Labor Market Reports

The Labor Market Report is a longstanding tradition within Marketing academia. Each year a survey goes out to department heads at leading business schools to inquire about hiring activity from the past year and recruiting plans for the upcoming year. Ethan and Cesar at MPJ have run the LMR since 2014. Chris Janiszewski and Geeta Menon authored the report from 2009-2013. Peter Dickson produced the 2008 LMR. Prior to that we’re lacking detail, though the 2008 LMR provides statistics dating to the 1996 hiring cycle.

Who Went Where Results

We’re big fans of the WWW, which is produced by AMA’s DocSIG. Each year DocSIG surveys candidates who were on the market (and accepted a position) and publishes a report with amazing metrics on job searches and outcomes. WWW reports can be found on the AMA DocSIG site (link below).
