Call for Post-Doctoral Applications: The Social Consumer Lab

The Social Consumer Lab at the Department of Management and Economics of the Open University of Israel is seeking postdoctoral fellows to participate in one of a variety of exciting new projects studying opinion leadership and social influence in the marketplace.

The lab explores when and how consumers influence one another – via dyad and group level processes – and how social influence flows in digital platforms such as customer review websites and social media. We delve into more than just how individuals behave in these social settings; we also investigate how they perceive themselves and experience their identities as members of groups and social networks. We combine experimental research with social network analysis, econometric, computational, and machine learning methods.

You can learn more about our projects on the website: https://www.social-consumer-lab.com/

Ideal candidates should have a PhD in psychology, marketing, or a closely related field (e.g., Cognitive Science, Management). Prior experience with R, Python, or another programming language is desirable. Background in quantitative and statistical methods is necessary. The candidate should be self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented, professional, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Hebrew language skills are not an application requirement.

To apply, please email ediths@openu.ac.il a cover letter, CV/Resume, and the contact information for 2-3 references. The cover letter should highlight your relevant research experience/background, skills, and why you are interested in the position. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Looking forward to receiving your application.
