Assistant Professor of Marketing

James M. Hull College of Business at Augusta University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time tenure-track position in Marketing at the Assistant Professor level, with an anticipated employment start date of August 1, 2024. The selected candidate must have a demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline relevant peer-reviewed intellectual contributions is required. About 30% of the workload will be dedicated to research and faculty development. Course load will be 2-3 courses per semester term, or about 50% of workload. Candidates should be prepared to deliver courses online, as hybrid online/face-to-face, and face-to-face with a strong preference for candidates who can combine these approaches in an assigned section. 

Responsibilities

Teaching – 60 %
Deliver high-quality undergraduate and graduate courses in finance and financial services. Course load will be three courses per semester term, or about 60% of workload.

Service – 10 %
Provide service to the university, college, community and/or profession

Scholarship – 30 %
Conduct peer reviewed research and faculty development

Required Qualifications

PhD in Marketing, or closely related field. Demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline relevant peer-reviewed intellectual contributions is required. Equally important is the demonstrated capability or potential for teaching excellence within the discipline. 

Assistant Professor- early-level career as a faculty member

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

* Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)’s requirements for institutional accreditation.

* Evidence of ability as a teacher.

* Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.

* Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and

  • Desirable personal qualities judged based on personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

Published or forthcoming peer-reviewed publications in related disciplines

Prior work experience in the financial services industry

Interest in interaction and relationship-building with local businesses and stakeholders

Online teaching experience

Experience of effective university-level teaching, development of a successful research agenda, and evidence of community and business outreach 

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0. 

Assistant Professor– Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
