Job Summary:

Drake University’s Zimpleman College of Business, Department of Marketing, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Marketing department. This is an in-person/on-campus appointment. Excellence in teaching, research, and service is expected.

Normal course load for a scholarly academic qualified professor would be 3 sections per semester assuming they will continue to pursue scholarship as a Drake faculty member. Teaching duties involve 6 sections per academic year. Primary responsibility will be face-to-face delivery of a range of marketing courses in subjects including research, management, and principles. Candidates may also be asked to cover subjects including sales and global marketing depending on interest, experience, and departmental needs.

This is a two-year appointment with a possible extension for a third year. The appointment starts in August 2024.

Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates will have earned a Ph.D. in marketing or be nearing completion of the Ph.D.
  • Professional experience in marketing will be considered a plus.
  • Evidence of demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the university level is highly desired.
