Position Summary:

The Business, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Learning Community at Henderson State University invites applicants for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Marketing. Henderson’s Business program was initially accredited by AACSB in 1998. The position reports to the Director of BIE.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Developing and teaching a broad spectrum of Marketing undergraduate courses using various methods and modes of instruction to ensure student engagement and success.Facilitate learning and help students achieve academic success and retention.
  • Assessment/evaluation of instruction;
  • Career advisement, recruitment, and retention activities;
  • Participation in college and University committees;
  • Facilitate student learning and help students achieve academic success and retention;
  • Monitor and continuously improve instruction to ensure Student Learning Outcomes are met in a classroom, discipline/program, and College level;
  • Provide academic academic advising;
  • Connect with local business and industry;
  • Participate in fostering partnerships that strengthen educational opportunities in response to community needs;
  • Engage in professional development in current and emerging instructional approaches to engage new majority learners;
  • Work with faculty to ensure programs are viable;
  • Maintain competency and currency in the teaching fields
  • Attend and participate in faculty and administrative meetings, commencement ceremonies, and other meeting/events as required;
  • Assist faculty with teaching courses to fulfill curriculum goals and objectives while supporting the overall missing of the Learning Community;
  • Perform scholarly activities to maintain competency and currency in the teaching fields consistent with AACSB standards;
  • May conduct supplemental instructional activities such as independent studies and internships;
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

A doctorate in Marketing is required for appointment as an Assistant/Associate Professor (ABD’s who are at the final stages of their doctoral dissertation will, likewise, be considered). Preference will be given to candidates with significant fieldwork experience.
