Department

The Department of Marketing at the Alvarez College of Business at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) consists of 17 tenure/tenure track and fixed-term-track faculty members and offers undergraduate degrees in marketing, minor in Sport Management and a doctoral degree in marketing. Position Summary

The Department of Marketing at the Alvarez College of Business at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is accepting applications for a full-time, fixed-term track faculty position as Associate Professor of Practice/Professor of Practice beginning on August 1, 2024.

It is expected this position will support offering new opportunities to Marketing students, specifically in the areas of sales and services management. The position will also help cover other marketing courses as needed and has service expectations.

The ideal candidate will have a record that demonstrates excellent teaching experience in Sales Management, Services Marketing or Management, Professional Selling, and general marketing classes such as Principles of Marketing, Marketing Management, Marketing Capstone, etc. at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates should hold a PhD degree with a focus in Marketing, or a related field from an AACSB (or equivalent) accredited institution.
  • Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to teach effectively in a variety of marketing courses, especially in the areas of Sales, Selling and/or Services.
  • Candidates should have experience with service to the department or college, with an emphasis on curriculum development and student success.
  • Candidates should have at least two years of relevant industry and/or academic experience and two years of student evaluations and demonstrate the ability to interact with business community and industry.

Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.
