Position Profile

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual seeking a work life balance whose passion also includes challenging, motivating and encouraging students in pursuit of their educational goals. CCSU is a student focused institution and the successful candidate will be expected to utilize their academic and industry experience in order to provide instruction and advising at both the undergraduate and graduate course levels. In particular, the ideal candidate will teach interdisciplinary courses for two new programs and courses in the new tracks in our MBA program.

Applicant Evaluative Criteria

Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:

Education:

All applicants must possess an advanced terminal degree in marketing or a closely related field from an accredited university.

ABD Candidates – Special Note: Applicants who are ABD candidates may be considered upon evidence of anticipated completion within one calendar year.

Experience and Training:

Demonstrated teaching excellence in the field of marketing at the university level in areas such as analytics, sports marketing, brand marketing, and user design experience.

Demonstrated marketing industry experience, preferably at the level of manager or above.

Demonstrated AASCB Scholarly Academic record of current and relevant scholarship and activities related to the field of accounting. Scholarly Academics are expected to have produced peer-reviewed publications related to their field of teaching as part of their portfolio of scholarship.

Faculty also are expected to participate in assessment, curriculum development, faculty governance, maintain their AACSB qualifications as Scholarly Academic, (SA), and other faculty activities.

Ideal Candidate

Doctorate in marketing from an accredited university, preferably from an AACSB accredited program.

Candidates who possess a Doctorate or terminal degree plus at least five (5) years of full-time service in a college or university in a rank of Assistant Professor or above or its comparable equivalent may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor.

Compensation and Employee Benefits

In accordance with the Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors (AAUP) Collective Bargaining Union Contract, compensation for this position is at the rank of Assistant Professor for 2024-2025.
