The Assistant Professor of Marketing teaches a variety of courses in the Gerrish School of Business and the School of Social Sciences, Communications, and Humanities’ Marketing Communications and Advertising Program. Such courses may include digital marketing, advertising fundamentals, public relations, neuromarketing, IMC, omnichannel marketing, media planning, and AI and automation. They also advise students, participate in accreditation processes, engage in professional scholarship, assist in developing internship relationships and student opportunities, and participate in school and college-wide service. They will teach courses and advise students for two semesters each year.

This position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Endicott College Faculty Association (ECFA) and Endicott College. ECFA is a faculty union organized under the NEA (National Educational Association) and provides structure and support for all full-time faculty at Endicott College.

Reporting to the Dean of the Gerrish School of Business, the successful candidate will contribute to our students’ academic and professional growth by providing high-quality instruction and academic rigor and engaging in collaborative initiatives internally and externally. We seek an individual with a passion for teaching, a commitment to scholarly activities, and a strong background in contemporary marketing practice.

Preference will be given to candidates with current expertise in one or more of the following areas: digital marketing, neuromarketing, IMC, omnichannel marketing, media planning, and/or AI and automation. The Gerrish School of Business emphasizes ethical marketing in the teaching of all marketing courses. As such, any viable candidate’s values must align with these values.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach 24 credits per academic year — 12 credits in both the fall and spring semesters (4 lecture courses each semester, or equivalent) in the Gerrish School of Business and/or The School of Social Sciences, Communications, and Humanities’ Marketing Communications and Advertising Program.
  • Advise up to 25 students in the Gerrish School of Business.
  • Attend department, school, and college meetings.
  • Participate in accreditation processes.
  • Engage in professional development, scholarship, research, and/or publishing.
  • Assist in curriculum development.
  • Participate in department, school, and college service.
  • Maintain and post regular office hours.
  • Perform other duties as required and as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Endicott College Faculty Association (ECFA) and Endicott College.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in marketing or a related field is required. Terminal degree in Marketing or a closely related discipline preferred.
  • Recent industry experience required.
  • Higher education teaching experience required.
  • A track record of quality academic publications is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
  • Ability to contribute to the academic and professional development of students.
  • A desire to expose students to collegiate competitions and experiential learning opportunities.
