Central Washington University is recruiting an Assistant Professor of Marketing to join our College of Business team in Ellensburg, Washington. The Role:

The College of Business at Central Washington University invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Marketing, on the Ellensburg campus, beginning in September 2024. 
Candidates must have completed, or must be in the final stages of completing, a doctoral degree in Marketing, or a Ph.D. in a closely related field, from an AACSB-accredited school, prior to the date of appointment. ABDs who will complete the doctorate by no later than August 31, 2024 will be considered. 
Specifically, the candidate for this position is expected to teach introductory and advanced marketing classes (e.g. digital   marketing, marketing analytics/research, consumer behavior, marketing principles) using a variety of teaching modalities. Faculty should also be dedicated to experiential student learning. 
Additional responsibilities for the position include contributing to curriculum development and advising students; engaging in scholarship appropriate to their field; and providing service to the University, the community and their profession. The candidate for the position will integrate CWU’s commitment to diversity and create a learning environment that is welcoming, accessible, and inclusive for all students. 
Marketing is the largest specialization, and digital marketing is the largest specialization minor in the College of Business. The marketing area, housed within the Department of Management, has four full time faculty with diverse and complementary teaching and research interests.   • Ph.D. from an AACSB-accredited school in Marketing or a closely related field prior to the start date. (ABDs who will complete the doctorate by no later than August 31, 2024, will be considered). 
  • Potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, especially in digital marketing and/or related areas such as marketing analytics/research, consumer behavior, and marketing principles. Candidates should be willing to teach in both face to face and online/distance education formats. 
  • Potential to publish in peer-reviewed journals. 

Preferred Qualifications (Please address in your cover letter if available):

  • Prior University-level teaching experience in digital marketing and/or related areas such as marketing analytics/research, consumer behavior, and/or marketing principles. 
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness. 
  • Experience or interest in developing undergraduate and graduate curriculum in areas such as digital marketing, marketing research/analytics, consumer behavior, and/or marketing principles. 
  • Research interests related to digital marketing, social media, consumer behavior, and/or marketing analytics. 
  • Experience working in a diverse environment and/or utilizing a variety of teaching methods designed for broad student success. 
  • Research, teaching, or service that demonstrates an ability to contribute to CWU`s commitment to inclusion and diversity. 
  • Work/consulting experience in private or public sector related to Marketing

Annual Salary : $120,000 – $135,000, based on a full-time nine-month appointment 
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. 

Appointment: Full-Time, Tenure-Track, 9 Month Appointment.  Additional Summer teaching may be available. Central Washington University is on the quarter system with appointments from mid-September through mid-June
