Ferrum College is currently seeking applicants for the tenure-track faculty position of Assistant Professor of Business/Marketing beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year. The successful applicant will be a dynamic, student-focused educator who is capable of growing Ferrum College’s Business Administration Marketing Emphasis in areas including but not limited to: analytics, marketing, marketing-research, retail management, professional selling, and advertising. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate an ability to interact with diverse audiences and who are able to incorporate innovative, inclusive pedagogies and technology into their teaching. Given the breadth of emphases in the Business Administration Program, the preferred candidate will also be effective in teaching across multiple sub-disciplines.
The position offers the opportunity to develop new courses and move the program into new areas of interest such as social media advertising or leadership in marketing. The successful candidate is expected to engage in community activities with local organizations, serve on division and college committees, advise and mentor students, and engage in curricular review and ongoing professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D., D.B.A., or M.B.A. with a specialization in marketing, marketing analytics, or related business disciplines.

- Relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated potential to engage in and conduct funded research in a relevant field
- Publication record in marketing or related sub-disciplines
- A strong commitment to experiential, hands-on learning and the liberal arts classroom.
