The Department of Marketing in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University (https://www.clemson.edu/business/departments/marketing/index.html) is inviting applications for a full-time tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning in August 2024 (or later if necessary). Salary is competitive. Applicants must already have, or anticipate completing before beginning the appointment, a doctoral degree in marketing or a closely related business field.

The Department of Marketing is part of the AACSB-accredited Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business. The department has 27 full-time faculty (13 tenure-track), approximately 1000 majors, and offers an MS Marketing degree. The college is housed in a state-of-the-art, 176,000 square foot facility which opened in 2020 (https://www.clemson.edu/business/index.html). Reflecting a commitment to business leadership, and coinciding with the opening of this facility, Clemson recently received its largest gift in history from Wilbur O. and Ann Powers to name the College of Business.

Qualifications

Research and teaching emphasis in professional sales or sales management is required. Applicants are expected to be committed to teaching and research of the highest quality. As such, the ideal applicant will have an established stream of sales-focused research and demonstrate a strong interest in teaching sales classes.

In addition, the selected applicant will be expected to be actively involved in student and industry activities associated with Clemson’s Sales Innovation Program.

Criteria for evaluating applicants will include college-level teaching experiences, sales-related research publications and active research, relevant business experience, and evidence of interactions with the business community.
