Job Description:

The Department of Business Administration – Augustana College, Rock Island, IL, invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track positions, rank open, to begin August 2024. Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in Marketing and/or International Business.

The teaching load is typically six, four-credit courses per academic year (which faculty may fulfill through a combination of teaching and advising). Additional responsibilities include departmental planning and programming, engaging with our campus community, and maintaining a research agenda commensurate with a teaching-focused institution.

The Business Administration department at Augustana College is a well-established and dynamic program focusing on effective undergraduate teaching within a strong liberal arts setting. The department houses two majors: Business and International Business. Each major includes options for a concentration: Management, Marketing, and Finance. The Business major also offers concentrations in Business Intelligence and International Business. Student demand for business coursework is robust; the majors offered by the business department are the most highly subscribed on campus. The department also oversees two minor programs in Entrepreneurial Studies and Nonprofit Leadership Development. As over 90 percent of majors complete an internship, we welcome candidates with a desire to develop relationships with the business community. 

Requirements:

A terminal degree in a related field is strongly preferred; candidates enrolled in but who have not yet completed a terminal degree in a related field will also be considered for an entry-level tenure-track position. Applicants with a master’s degree in a related field and distinguished professional experience will be considered for a non-tenure track position. Professional experience in the field of expertise is strongly preferred for all applicants.
