The College of Business at University of Montana is seeking to fill a tenure track position in the Management & Marketing department with the appointment starting August 2024.  The expectations include teaching at the undergraduate and/or master’s levels in the Management or Marketing discipline, maintaining an active research agenda, and engaging in professional and service activities. A specific service requirement of this position is to serve as faculty Director for the University of Montana Entertainment Management (UMEM) certificate program. The faculty Director is expected to teach in the certificate program as part of their regular teaching load, as well as advise students and represent the program to the college, university, and community. Professional or teaching experience in entertainment, hospitality, sports, tourism, or experience management is required.

Appointment to the rank of associate professor requires research publications and years of teaching service at an AACSB accredited institution commensurate with the rank of associate professor. Salary is dependent on qualifications and is comparable with peer universities in the region.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Management or closely related field from a school accredited by AACSB International, prior to the starting date of employment
  • Demonstrated potential to publish in peer-reviewed journals and an active, ongoing research agenda
  • Teaching experience or interest in organizational behavior
  • Teaching experience or interest quantitative methods or analytics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching quality demonstrated by recent teaching evaluations and/or awards
  • Ph.D. granted by an AACSB institution prior to the start of the employment
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving the needs of diverse students (e.g., Native Americans, first generation college students, military veterans)
  • Relevant professional work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to engage the business community
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Housed within the Department of Management & Marketing, UMEM offers certificates at the undergraduate and graduate level.
