Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

The Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality & Tourism Department (MEHT) consists of 14 full-time faculty members. The department serves over 500 undergraduate students and offers three Bachelor of Science degrees in: Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Hospitality and Tourism Management. All three degrees are offered online and on campus. Additionally, the Department delivers courses in the undergraduate business core, and the MBA program. The North Carolina Sales Institute is also associated with the Department. Faculty members are active in research and have published in Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Academy of Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Service Research, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Small Business Economics, Tourism Management, and other very high-quality journals. Faculty members in the Department have received external funding from agencies such as North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and National Institutes of Health.

The Bryan School has over 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students and more than 120 full- and part-time faculty members housed in six departments and programs. Accredited in both business and accounting by AACSB, and in the apparel design and merchandising area by TAPAC, the Bryan School is the recipient of many rankings, honors and accolades. The faculty and students are both impressive. For example, in 2022, faculty members averaged 2.3 peer reviewed journal articles each (16 in FT50 journals), published 9 books, occupied 118 editorial positions with peer reviewed journals (editor, associate editor, or editorial board member), and worked on $3.7m in awarded grants. Students have traditionally performed well in national and regional competitions. Position Summary
The Department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality & Tourism (MEHT) in the Bryan School of Business and Economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for three tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Marketing. The positions will commence on August 1, 2024. These are not a remote work positions and those selected must reside in, or relocate to, North Carolina.

Performance expectations include: a) teaching via face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats; b) conducting research in marketing leading to publications in elite and very high-quality refereed journals; and c) participating in professional, university, and department/program service. Across the positions we are seeking teaching coverage in any of the following areas: international marketing, sales, digital analytics, social media marketing, principles of marketing, marketing strategy, and advertising.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in Marketing (or in Business with a concentration in Marketing) from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited business school and show promise of successful refereed journal scholarship at the highest levels. ABDs who are assured of completion by August 1, 2024, may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
We shall favorably consider related business experience and experiential teaching through student consulting projects, but these are not requirements for the positions.
