The School has both breadth and depth of expertise in a number of different areas with key strengths in marketing analytics and marketing science, marketing strategy and marketing operations management, consumer research, services marketing, and product and service innovation.

We are seeking to strengthen our outstanding marketing expertise within the Faculty by appointing an additional Lecturer (Australian equivalent to assistant professor) or Senior Lecturer in the School of Marketing.

About the role 

A Level B/ Level C (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer) is expected to make contributions to teaching in the School and to carry out activities to maintain and develop his/her scholarly research and professional activities, including publishing in strong relevant academic journals and an appropriate level of engagement in university, industry, government, and/or community roles.

The role of Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.

About you:

You will possess the following skills and experience required as a Level B:

  • A PhD in Marketing or being very close to completion of a PhD in Marketing. 
  • Expected and/or demonstrated excellence in publishing in relevant top marketing and related journals in the areas of marketing science and marketing analytics, marketing strategy and marketing operations management, and other managerially related marketing areas (quantitative).
  • A demonstrated ability for teaching and curriculum development at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in Marketing.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
  • An ability to supervise honours and postgraduate research students.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Skills and experience required as a Level C (in addition to Level B):

  • A PhD in Marketing.
  • A solid record of research publication in strong Marketing and related journals in the areas of marketing strategy and marketing operations management, marketing science and marketing analytics, innovation (in products, services, and marketing operations), and/or business-to-business research (especially quantitative B2B research).
  • Record of solid achievement in a managerial role in a university or professional setting and of contribution within these settings.
  • A record of academic excellence with an outstanding contribution to teaching and research at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Capacity and experience to contribute strongly to the development of research, teaching, and programs relevant to the discipline area.
