The Haslam College of Business seeks applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in Marketing at the Assistant and/or Associate Professor level. The chosen candidate will conduct state-of-the art research, teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in marketing (three courses per year), and perform service duties as needed. Preference will be given to applicants at the Assistant Professor level. Candidates from all specialization areas who conduct research with implications for marketing practice will be considered, independent of methodological or theoretical orientation. The position start date is August 1, 2024.

About the Department

Ranked 20th among public U.S. institutions (2023 U.S. News & World Report), the Marketing Department is home to 19 full-time faculty members (12 tenure track and 7 non-tenure track) with diverse areas of specialization. The department’s tenure track faculty have a demonstrated record of success publishing in the field’s premier journals and are highly active and visible in the discipline (e.g., as journal editors, award-winning reviewers, and special interest group leaders). The department is home to a vibrant doctoral program, a newly established Master of Science in Marketing program, and a multi-track undergraduate program that serves students with interests in digital marketing, professional selling, and customer and brand strategy.

Qualifications

  • Applicants should have an earned PhD in marketing or a directly related field by the time of appointment.
  • Candidates for Assistant Professor must demonstrate an ability to conduct research publishable in the discipline’s premier journals.
  • Candidates for Associate Professor must have an established research program that includes publications in the discipline’s premier journals. 
  • Candidates at all ranks must have the ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Entry level applicants (i.e., applicants at the Assistant Professor level) must submit three reference letters that should be uploaded along with their cover letter (i.e., the cover letter and reference letters should be uploaded as part of one PDF file).
