Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Marketing

Position Summary/Purpose of Position

The Department of Marketing at the Chaifetz School of Business, Saint Louis University is now accepting applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Marketing faculty position in the Department of Marketing that begins in August 2024 or as early as January 2024.

Saint Louis University’s Chaifetz School of Business is an AACSB-accredited institution offering undergraduate, MBA, specialized master’s, and Ph.D. programs.

The mission of the Department of Marketing is to provide high-quality, practical and career-driven education in the discipline of marketing to enhance students’ prospects for meaningful employment and substantive contributions to society. Thus, our focus is on hiring and nurturing faculty who contribute significantly to the knowledge bases within marketing, whose research is innovative and focused on improving the marketing discipline, and whose approach to curriculum is innovative and collaborative, focused on continuous improvement.
 

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be expected to conduct top-level scholarly research, deliver high-quality teaching, and perform service as required. The candidate will be expected to have the ability to teach courses at the undergraduate, MBA, and/or Ph.D. levels. The responsibilities of the position support the mission and goals of the Chaifetz School of Business and the Department of Marketing including engaging in quality scholarly activities consistent with AACSB accreditation and actively participating in departmental and college activities.

Minimum Qualifications


Education

  • Ph.D. degree or ABD status.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Candidates can be from any research area within marketing (quantitative, behavioral, managerial).
  • Beginning Assistant Professor candidates should have outstanding research potential and more advanced candidates should have excellent publication records in relevant leading journals.
  • All applicants are expected to possess excellent teaching skills.
  • Interest in teaching one or more of the following areas with an emphasis on analytics: marketing research, research methods, digital marketing, and/or social media marketing.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Applicants with a Ph.D. or ABD status from an AACSB accredited university.
  • Relevant teaching/research experience.
  • A developing or established stream of research with the potential for consistent and high-quality publications in marketing or related areas.
