Job Description

The Marketing Department at the University of Nevada, Reno is hiring an Assistant Professor (tenure track) with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2023. This position will be responsible for conducting research and teaching courses related to Marketing. Successful candidates will have a record of or potential to publish research in quality peer-reviewed journals. Hiring is subject to budgetary approval.  

The department seeks candidates interested in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Digital Marketing (and related subjects), Sales Management, or Strategic Marketing. Industry experience in the aforementioned fields is valued. There may be opportunities to teach other courses, depending on department needs.

Nevada has a high percentage of first-generation students and a large population of traditionally under-represented groups. The department particularly values candidates who will further our efforts to support a diverse academic community.

Additionally, the position requires contributions to the mission of the university by providing service and other shared governance activities and by facilitating connections with the regional business community.

Required Qualifications

This position requires a Ph.D. in Marketing or related field from an accredited institution. If the degree is from a business school, the school should be accredited by AACSB or equivalent.

Candidates who are A.B.D. must have completed their Ph.D. by the time of the appointment.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated effectiveness in teaching Marketing courses, and have a great potential for research.

Salary is based on related education and experience, internal equity, and budgets. Starting salary is AACSB competitive for tenure-track positions in Marketing.

Grants-in-aid

Department Information

The Marketing Department includes 11 full-time faculty who teach in the Marketing BS, MBA, and Executive MBA programs. Faculty also teach in the Business Analytics Minor and the new Supply Chain and Transportation Management Minor, both of which are based in the Marketing Department. Marketing is the largest major in the College, and Business Analytics is the largest minor in the College.
