Clinical Assistant Professor of Marketing (Non-Tenure Track) Department of Marketing

The Department of Marketing in the Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte is seeking to fill a Clinical Assistant Professor position. This position is full-time and non-tenure track. The candidate must be prepared to teach various marketing courses such as principles of marketing, digital marketing, brand management, consumer behavior, and global marketing, as needed. The teaching load is four courses per semester. Prior teaching experience, especially in large classroom and/or online settings, is preferred. In addition to teaching, responsibilities for this position may include student advising and other service assignments as determined by the department. The candidate will be expected to engage in research and professional activities appropriate for the rank and to the extent required to meet the College’s Faculty Qualification Standards for Clinical faculty. The candidate will also be expected to engage in appropriate service activities in the Department, the College and the University.

The candidate must engage in activities to stay academically and professionally qualified for accreditation purposes. All non-tenured faculty are encouraged to engage in a program of service appropriate to their discipline and have a commitment to contribute to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to service may include but are not limited to: service to the administration and governance of the University, public service, and service to the profession.

Qualifications

The position requires a doctoral degree in marketing or a closely related field. The degree requirement must be completed by the time of appointment. Prior teaching experience, especially in large classroom and/or online settings, is preferred. Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred. The clinical rank requires research in marketing or closely related areas that can help the College maintain its AACSB accreditation.

The initial appointment is for the 2023-2024 academic year. Salary is competitive. Reappointment will depend on performance, departmental needs, and the College’s budgetary situation.
