Founded in 1894, City, University of London is a global university committed to academic excellence with a focus on business and the professions and an enviable central London location.

City attracts around 20,000 students (over 40% postgraduate level) from more than 150 countries and staff from over 75 countries.

In the last decade, City has almost tripled the proportion of its total academic staff producing world-leading or internationally excellent research. During this period, City has made significant investments in its academic staff, its estate and its infrastructure and continues to work towards realizing its vision of being a leading global university.

Background

Bayes Business School is among the small group of business schools with an established reputation for excellence in both business research and education. Bayes holds the “triple-crown” accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). The school and its programmes are consistently ranked among the best in the world.

We are, despite this, not complacent. On the contrary, we will be seeking significantly to develop our research and education and, critically, our engagement with practice. We are conscious that business schools are experiencing disruption in how research is undertaken and disseminated, in how education is delivered and in what is expected by business and society from a business school.

The Faculty of Management is the largest Business School faculty with more than 80 scholars and is proud of its exceptional diversity, thought leadership, and collegiality.  It nurtures scholars who strive for international impact through their research, education, and service.

The Marketing Group seeks to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Marketing (Education). The role is full-time and permanent with a starting date of 1st May 2023 or soon thereafter.

Responsibilities

The appointed Lecturer or Senior Lecturer will design and deliver high quality education in Marketing and teach undergraduate and graduate courses on marketing topics, including large-lecture and online classes. He or she will play a full and active role as a member of the Faculty of Management and will play a major role in educational leadership in the school.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have completed, or will be close to completing, a PhD in a related field.  Evidence of education excellence, such as through awards and student feedback is required, as is a proven record of delivering high quality and innovative education at higher education or executive education levels. Candidates should have earned an HEA fellowship or its equivalent or be willing to gain HEA fellowship soon after their appointment.

Additional Information

City offers a sector-leading salary, pension scheme and benefits including a comprehensive package of staff training and development.
