Program Director & Practitioner Faculty Member
Assistant Professor – Marketing & Digital Marketing (Term Appointment)
This full-time, dual role combines the leadership of an internal marketing team of graduate and undergraduate student assistants (50%) with teaching and developing courses in digital marketing, strategic marketing and related areas (50%).
The start date will be set for late May 2023Required Qualifications
Education/Credentials
- Master’s degree in marketing, integrated marketing communications, strategic communications or related area.
- Appropriate industry, tactical, and platform certifications (such as Google Analytics, PMP, Google Ads, Blueprint, CTT+, OMCP, or others) as related to the applicant’s professional background.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience (post-bachelor’s degree) in marketing communications with a focus on digital tactics across web, social, search, and email.
- Account, relationship, and project management.
- Supervision of individuals with the following skills: writing, design, media/video production, data analysis.
- Competent in CRM database and marketing automation.
- Use of project management and collaboration tools such as Basecamp, Asana, Notion, Teams, Monday, and similar applications.
- Teaching or training on marketing, digital marketing, and other business concepts in both seated and virtual environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Agency or internal agency (brandside) experience
- Familiarity with higher education admissions and marketing
- Experience teaching at the college level
- Experience creating written, visual, and/or multimedia content
- Experience conducting and optimizing paid social, SEM, and other PPC campaigns
- Experience supervising student interns
- Doctorate or ABD in business
Job Functions
Instructor:
- Teach up to 3 courses per semester in the Marketing, Digital Marketing, Strategic Marketing, or related areas at the undergraduate or graduate levels.
- Develop curriculum for graduate and undergraduate-level students.
- Participate in department- and School-level meetings, programs, and initiatives.
Program Manager
- Train and supervise 10-12 graduate and undergraduate interns who will provide promotional support to select departments across campus.
- Manage intern and client projects, implementing a quality assurance process to ensure compliance with brand guidelines, program standards, and industry best practices.
- Interface with key internal stakeholders at various levels of leadership.
- Provide oversight and management of program budget, payroll, intern performance review and other administrative tasks.
- Develop and execute a recruitment plan for future cycles of interns.
- Complete and present annual report of program results.
- Refine and further develop the program based on prior year results; feedback from clients, interns, and other stakeholders; evolving digital marketing best practices; and university priorities.
