Department SummaryThe Department is diverse and features 37 members. Specifically, the department consists of twenty-seven instructors (seven Adjunct Professors, two Lecturers, one Senior Lecturer, one Principal Lecturer, one Clinical Assistant Professor, one Clinical Associate Professor, four Assistant Professors, one Associate Professor, and nine Professors) and offers undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees with a concentration in marketing. Tenure track faculty members are expected to publish in leading journals in the field of marketing (e.g., Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of MarketingJournal of Marketing ResearchJournal of the Academy of Marketing ScienceMarketing Science, Management Science, Strategic Management Journal and other allied journals) and engage in leading research that supports UNT’s status as a Tier One research university. As such, we offer an environment that supports faculty research, teaching and laboratories in behavioral research and modeling and simulation. Position SummaryThe Department of Marketing in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas (UNT) seeks applicants for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Marketing position that begins in January, 2023. Preference will be given to candidates who possess strong presentation, quantitative or qualitative, and classroom-management skills; who demonstrate an ability to teach face-to-face and/or internet-based undergraduate and graduate courses; and who possess a strong background and/or the experience-based potential to teach successfully at the undergraduate or graduate level in Advertising Management; Product & Brand Management; Consumer Behavior; and Digital Marketing. The successful candidate needs to be highly-qualified to teach each course listed above. Preference, however, will be given toward candidates who are well-qualified to teach two or more courses from the list. Regardless of their research specialization, applicants are expected to maintain an active research profile by periodically publishing referred journal articles and making presentations in academic conferences. The successful candidate is also expected to play a secondary role in service activities in the department such as committee work.
Minimum QualificationsPh.D. in Marketing or successfully defended dissertation in Marketing or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution is required by time of appointment (January 1, 2023) – subject to funding.
Preferred Qualifications(1) Potential for effective teaching the courses according to the department’s needs and priorities, (2) Potential to maintain an active research profile, and (3) desire to work collegially with faculty from diverse cultural backgrounds.
