Description: Carroll University School of Business (CUSB) is seeking a colleague to join us in preparing the next generation of business professionals and leaders. We are looking for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Business specializing in Marketing who is learner-centered and passionate about both teaching and research. The CUSB seeks candidates who are looking for a balanced school that values teaching excellence, reputable research, and engagement with students and the business community. Responsibilities:

• *Teach three classes per semester in some combination of the following courses: Principles of Marketing, Digital Marketing, B2B Marketing, Promotion, and Marketing Research; Opportunities may exist to teach Professional Selling and Strategic Marketing (MBA course).

• Maintain scholarly activity consistent with CUSB mission to support AACSB accreditation.

• Serve as an undergraduate academic and career advisor.

• Participate in service to the CUSB and University.

*Note: The standard teaching load for research-active faculty is 3-3. Research support and/or summer teaching may be available but are not guaranteed.

Qualifications:

Required

• Doctorate in marketing or closely related field from an AACSB or equivalently accredited program at the time of appointment. ABDs will be considered but will be appointed at the rank of instructor until degree is completed. The doctorate must be completed within one year of date of hire.

• Undergraduate teaching experience in at least one of the courses listed above.

Preferred

• At least one year of demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate or graduate level marketing coursework in two or more of the courses listed above

• A proven ability to successfully teach in in-person, synchronous online, and blended teaching modalities

• Desire and ability to integrate analytics and technology into coursework

• Demonstrated success in, and continuing commitment to, publishing in high-quality refereed journals

• Demonstrated ability to teach at the MBA level

• Three to five years of relevant industry experience

The University: Founded in 1846, Carroll University is an independent, co-educational comprehensive university grounded in the liberal arts tradition. The Pioneer Core general education curriculum has a strong emphasis on developing intercultural awareness and includes cross-cultural immersion experiences. Carroll University is located in suburban Waukesha, 16 miles west of Milwaukee and 60 miles east of Madison. The University serves approximately 3500 students. The University though intentionally ecumenical and non-sectarian in approach, is related to the Presbyterian Church, USA. Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission and ethos.

Waukesha is just west of Milwaukee, about an hour east of Madison, and roughly two hours away from Chicago.

The CUSB : Established in 2017, the CUSB goal is to provide an engaging and experiential business education that produces highly sought-after graduates and successful alumni. The school is pursuing AACSB accreditation, and new faculty members will play an important role in that process. The University is in the planning stage for a new, state-of-the-art facility that will bring business and technology disciplines together and will serve as the central hub for student, faculty, and business community engagement. The School of Business is committed to high quality academic programs and educational offerings. Our faculty are known to possess leading-edge knowledge combined with a passion to excel at teaching. Waukesha County is Wisconsin’s third-largest county and home to a vibrant business community. Major industries include technology, manufacturing, and health care. In addition, The CUSB hosts the Analytics and Business Intelligence Consortium, sponsoring events and helping member companies to solve analytics-related problems. We strive to be an impactful school to businesses and to students through internships, class projects, guest speakers, consulting, and a Business Advisory Board.

Rank and Salary: This position is full-time (9-month) faculty position. Rank is open and is commensurate with prior experience. Candidates who have earned advanced rank at another institution will be considered for comparable appointment. Opportunities for summer teaching and project work are available, but not guaranteed. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
