The Greehey School of Business at St. Mary’s University, a premier institution, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Marketing position starting August 1, 2023. Candidates should hold or be near completion to a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Marketing from an AACSB accredited university. ABD candidates with an expected completion date within one year of appointment will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates able to teach across multiple instructional modalities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and who demonstrate an interest in and the capacity to conduct quality scholarly research. Priority will be given to candidates who specialize in Consumer Behavior, Services Marketing, and/or Selling and Sales Marketing. In addition, the successful candidate should be able to teach in more than one of the following areas including: Digital Marketing, Branding, Retailing, and Marketing Strategy. The Greehey School of Business seeks a faculty to join their team who incorporates experiential or service-learning projects as part of the instructional approach.

The position is housed in the Department of Management and Marketing in the Greehey School of Business. The Department serves three majors, Marketing, Management and International Business. The Marketing major offers a Digital Marketing track while students in the Management major can pursue a track in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. A minor in Sports Management is offered out of the department. Faculty in the department also teach core courses common to all business majors. At the graduate level, faculty members provide instruction to students enrolled in the School’s MBA program. Successful faculty members maintain a balanced portfolio of teaching, research, and service and are open to interaction with industry and the profession. 

The Greehey School of Business is AACSB accredited. At the undergraduate level, it offers a BBA with majors in Accounting, Accounting and Data Analytics, Finance and Risk Management, Management, Marketing, and International Business. At the graduate level, the school offers an 18-month cohort-based Greehey MBA, and an MBA for Professionals (MBA-P). Class sizes are small with an average faculty to student ratio of 1:17. The Greehey School of Business enrolls just under 700 students. The School has an excellent reputation for academic quality and has a very successful alumni base that is engaged with the School and the University. San Antonio is one of the top ten fastest growing cities in the country with the San Antonio-Austin corridor described as the “New Major Metropolis” by major news media.
