The Department of Marketing in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has TWO tenure-track Assistant Professor level openings beginning August 2023. Candidates with experience may be hired with tenure and the rank of Associate or Full Professor. These are full-time positions with responsibilities for teaching face-to-face and online undergraduate and graduate courses in marketing and service to the university and community. Research expertise should complement existing faculty expertise. Promotion will be based on a balanced commitment to teaching, research and service. Opportunities for reduced teaching load, summer support, research incentives, online teaching (additional incentive money) and travel support exist; grant writing will also be rewarded.
Ph.D. or other terminal degree from an AACSB accredited institution or its equivalent in marketing is required. ABD candidates may apply but must have their degree completed by the contract start date in August 2023; if not, they will be hired on a one-year contract with the understanding that their degree will be completed before January 2024 in advance of their first scheduled review.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Demonstrated commitment to teaching with an emphasis on promoting the success of undergraduate and graduate students, clear evidence of scholarly potential, commitment to working with diverse populations and serving as an active member of the university community. Salary is commensurate with academic preparation and experience.
· Willingness to work with student organizations.
· Ability to teach online courses.
· Ability to teach doctoral courses.
· Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
· Teach undergraduate and MBA/MS courses in marketing, and potentially doctoral-level courses, and should have the ability and desire to teach some combination of the following courses: marketing strategy, brand management, digital marketing, artificial intelligence, sales, B2b marketing.
· The successful candidates must have experience or a willingness in serving as a faculty advisor to student organizations.
· Research expectations include peer-reviewed journal articles, case studies, books (book chapters), and other intellectual contributions defined in the CoBE Faculty Handbook.
The Department of Marketing (https://www.uww.edu/cobe/departments/department-of-marketing) is one of the seven departments in the College of Business and Economics (http://www.uww.edu/cobe). There are 15 full-time faculty and staff members supporting approximately 750 undergraduate majors, minors and certificates with emphases in sales, digital marketing, and sports and experiential marketing. The Department of Marketing also serves approximately 100 graduate-level students with an MBA marketing emphasis or as part of our newly launched MS in Marketing Program. Five faculty also teach in the Doctor of Business Program. The Department also hosts the internationally-recognized UW-Institute for Sales Excellence. The collegiate chapter of the American Marketing Association has held or shared the AMA International Chapter of the Year for 11 consecutive years. The College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is the largest AACSB-accredited business school in the state of Wisconsin. The College enrolls approximately 3,500 business undergraduate students and offers 15 majors and 26 emphases. Nearly 1,100 graduate students are enrolled in a breadth of online and on-campus programs, including the Masters of Business Administration (with 12 unique emphases, including Marketing), Master of Science in Marketing, Master of Science in Cybersecurity, Master of Science in Data Analytics, Master of Science in Environmental Health and Safety, Master of Science in Finance, Master of Science in Education in School Business Management, Master of Science in Applied Biotechnology, and the Doctorate of Business Administration.
