As an Associate Professor (Level D) your responsibilities will include:

  • Making a significant contribution to the Department’s teaching across all levels
  • Making a significant contribution to research in a specific area aligned with one of the research areas in the department, faculty or research centre.
  • Demonstrating excellent scholarly learning and teaching across all levels and modes
  • Contributing to the supervision, management and timely completion of Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of the university’s strategic agenda through formal and informal leadership and contributory roles to deliver core outcomes at the discipline and Department level
  • Providing leadership and contribute to the development of the University’s community engagement agenda and activities

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Distinguished scholarly learning and teaching in UG and PG programs, including innovative curriculum design and supervision to doctoral level
  • Internationally recognised research reputation underpinned by publications in high quality journals
  • Success in obtaining and timely completion of competitive external research grants
  • Successful engagement with research, community, industry to enhance the national and international standing of the discipline
  • Demonstrated success and passion for mentoring and leadership of teaching, research and administration
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues

As a Lecturer (level B- Assistant Professor Equlivant) your responsibilities will include:

  • Being actively involved in teaching including making significant contributions to innovative teaching
  • Assisting in the integration of industry and research practice to inform unit / course design and teaching practices Participate in teaching teams to develop courses and materials and collaborate to produce innovation in curriculum design
  • Maintaining deep discipline knowledge which is applied to inform unit design.
  • Initiating, designing and conducting high-quality research activities generating high impact outputs 
  • Widely communicating research outputs to discipline(s), other sectors and the community, nationally and internationally, ensuring impact in the field and the community  
  • Contributing to the implementation of University’s community engagement agenda and community engagement activities 
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the university’s strategic agenda through formal and informal leadership and contributory roles to deliver core outcomes 

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design 
  • Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions and/or success in obtaining external research funding 
  • Ability to make a contribution to community engagement for research and teaching 
  • Capacity to contribute to leadership of teaching, research and/or administration 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues
