OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY, SPEARS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, Tenure-Track Faculty Position

Position: The Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in marketing at the rank of assistant professor. New assistant professors are given minimal service assignments, reduced teaching loads, and generous summer support to allow them to develop their research programs. Salary is competitive for a comprehensive research university.

Qualifications: Candidates should hold or anticipate holding a Ph.D. in marketing or a related field with evidence of outstanding research and teaching. Any candidate must also be able to contribute to and help maintain a collegial work environment.

The Department: Research is highly valued in the School of Marketing and International Business and is expected of our tenure-track faculty members. The department consists of 20 faculty positions (with this hire, we will have 13 tenure-track faculty members). We publish in the best marketing and consumer research journals as well as in strong area journals and in the journals of adjacent disciplines. Key substantive areas of interest for our faculty members include public policy and marketing, organizational frontline marketing management, and other important areas. Senior faculty members are committed to working with junior faculty members and supporting their success. For more information about faculty members’ research interests, please visit this online site: SMIB research faculty.

This position is intended to align with the efforts of the Spears Center for Social and Business Impact, and priority will be given to applicants who have an established interest in conducting research that is consistent with the Center’s goals. This includes conducting and publishing original research focused on the use of marketing to do social good and achieve important societal goals (broadly defined). The Spears School of Business has made a meaningful commitment to support efforts in research, teaching, and outreach to our communities that address important societal issues. For example, we recently hired a Director for the Spears Center for Social and Business Impact; the tenure-track faculty position described herein is another example of our commitment. The School of Marketing and International Business, in particular, has a long history of research and leadership in the marketing and public policy arena.

The department provides direct academic leadership and courses in both marketing and international business, with over 1000 undergraduate students with majors in these areas. Our tenure-track faculty members teach at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels. The successful candidate will be able to teach at all three levels.
