Your Tasks

  • Contribute to a fully funded research project on digital well-being in connection with smartphone use.
  • Opportunity to develop additional, original research at the intersection of marketing, psychology, and human-computer interaction (including own budget for independent research).
  • Publishing in international, peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
  • Provide support and guidance to the doctoral students at our institute.

Your Profile

  • Excellent PhD in either a social science field (psychology, marketing, economics, or related disciplines) or technical sciences (computer science, data science) (“magna cum laude” or higher). Ideally initial experience at the intersection of these fields (human-computer interaction, human factors research).
  • Extensive practical experience in at least one command-line tool for data analysis, ideally R or Python (i.e., hands-on experience beyond university courses).
  • Extensive practical experience in empirical research (either web-experiments or laboratory experiments).
  • Ideally initial experience in working with and developing custom-made hardware (Raspberry Pi, Arduino) or software (mobile app development kits).
  • A passion for interdisciplinary research.
  • Excellent English writing and oral communication skills.
  • Strong self-discipline, team-orientation, and openness to work in international teams.
