Olivet College, a liberal arts college in south central Michigan with a long-standing commitment to inclusion and diversity, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Business. This full-time tenure track faculty position will be responsible for instruction at the undergraduate level in the areas of marketing, management, and economics, as well as possible instruction opportunities within the college’s online MBA program, depending upon the successful candidate’s qualifications and disciplinary area.

Position Requirements: Earned doctorate in business- or economics-related field will receive priority consideration; ABD, MBA, or master’s degree in a business- or economics-related discipline will be considered. The successful candidate will have demonstrated successful teaching at the undergraduate level and will have relevant experience in a related field of business. Preference will be given to applicants with expressed interest and experience in instruction in marketing or in microeconomics/ macroeconomics. The department is developing a fresh vision for many of its programs including marketing; candidates with experience in digital marketing, marketing analytics, marketing communication or consumer behavior are encouraged to apply. Applicants with demonstrated competence working with culturally diverse groups in teaching, scholarship, and/or service are also encouraged to apply.

Candidates must indicate a clear commitment to teaching and provide evidence of the ability to create positive and engaging learning experiences for students and facilitate student learning in and outside of the classroom. Position Responsibilities:  The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of undergraduate courses in the fields of general business, marketing, management, and economics, and to assist with curriculum development within the department. The faculty member will be expected to participate in the academic life of the Business Department and the college.

Full-time faculty members at the college instruct 24 credit hours (or the equivalent) over the academic year. Faculty are responsible for course delivery and curriculum development, as well as engagement with students in the capacity of mentor and academic advisor. Along with instruction and student engagement, faculty responsibilities include scholarship and service to the college, the discipline or profession, and the larger society.
