Concordia University seeks applicants for a full-time Department Chair of Management and Marketing. The successful candidate will be an innovative and dynamic leader who is committed to advancing the department by further developing teaching excellence and scholarly research. The Chair will supervise and coordinate all aspects of Concordia’s management and marketing academic programs, with oversight of personnel, budget, administrative records, program development and assessment. The chair will teach courses in management and marketing as appropriate. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position reports directly to the Assistant Dean for the School of Business and is located on the Ann Arbor, MI campus. Occasional traveling will be required. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in management, marketing, and other business programs primarily for the Haab Business School at Concordia University’s Ann Arbor campus Oversee the business communication, business management, fashion merchandising, management, marketing, and public relations curricula, including curriculum development, implementation, and assessment for traditional and accelerated learning modalities Supervise, orient, evaluate, and promote professional development of Management and Marketing faculty (full-time and part-time) Hire and coordinate Management and Marketing adjunct instructors Develop and administer program budgets Chair department faculty meetings Mentor and advise students seeking to pursue business majors Serve as a role model for scholar-practitioner research and teaching excellence Comply with University and accrediting body policies and standards Serve on University and school committees Other duties that align with the University and School of Business strategic priorities

Ability and qualifications to teach across business disciplines A high standard of professional integrity, flexibility, strong team-building skills, and ability to work in complex settings Effectively use of technology in instruction and advising Commitment to teaching excellence, innovative curriculum development and delivery Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) Education & Experience An active member of a Christian church Doctoral degree in related field from a regionally accredited university with related professional work experience. Candidates who successfully complete their doctorate program by December 31, 2022, may also be considered. Experience and interest in teaching students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds

Compensation & Benefits:
This is a full-time, exempt (salary) faculty position. The starting wage is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.
