The University of Stavanger is seeking candidates for a position as Associate professor in strategy at the UiS Business School, Department of Innovation, Management and Marketing.

As an Associate Professor, you will conduct and disseminate strategy research, teach and guide students, be given administrative duties appropriate to rank, as well as contribute to the development of partnerships with businesses.

Qualification requirements

We seek an associate professor with a PhD in strategy or related fields.

Applicants should have:

  • A strong research background and the ability and desire to conduct high quality research.
  • A proven track record of strategy research published in top-tier journals (level 4 or higher, rated in the Academic Journal Guide published by the Association of Business Schools).
  • Relevant teaching experience and proof of excellent performance (e.g., student evaluations).

You need to document pedagogical and didactic skills appropriate for university level teaching. Otherwise, you need to complete a university pedagogy course within a period of two years from the start of the appointment. The course will be provided by the university.

You need to demonstrate good command of both oral and written English at the start of the appointment. If you cannot document good command of Norwegian or another Scandinavian language, you are expected to gain Norwegian language skills equivalent to level B2 within a period of three years from the start of the appointment. A Norwegian course will be offered and paid for by the university.
