The Department of Marketing in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University invites applications for a full time (nine months), non-tenure track position beginning August 15, 2022.

The preferred candidate is expected to be hired as either a Professor of Practice or a Clinical Assistant Professor in Marketing based on qualifications. The compensation package is competitive, includes benefits, and is commensurate with experience. The position is term-limited and renewable annually based on performance and availability of funding.

Professor of Practice: Job duties

Job duties will include teaching four (4), primarily in-person classes each semester (fall and spring) at the undergraduate or graduate level for courses such as consumer behavior, data analytics, principles of marketing, strategic marketing management, digital/social media, advertising and promotional strategy, and/or other classes based on areas of expertise. Faculty members are also expected to make service contributions to the department, the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, and Clemson University.

Clinical Assistant Professor: Job Duties

Job duties will include teaching three (3), primarily in-person classes each semester (fall and spring) at the undergraduate or graduate level for courses such as consumer behavior, data analytics, principles of marketing, strategic marketing management, digital/social media, advertising and promotional strategy, and/or other classes based on areas of expertise. Successful candidates will maintain a record of journal publications required for AACSB accreditation. Faculty members are also expected to make service contributions to the department, the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, and Clemson University.

Clemson University is a premier land-grant, competitive admissions institution with approximately 20,000 undergraduate students. The Marketing program currently has approximately 750 marketing majors, 15 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, two clinical faculty members, and five full-time lecturers/professors of practice.

Clemson is a small college town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, located on the I-85 corridor between Atlanta and Charlotte and is 30 miles outside of Greenville, SC. Qualifications

Professor of Practice: Qualifications

Successful candidates must have at least a Master’s degree in Marketing or a strongly related field, at least 10 years of industry experience, and strong communication skills.

Clinical Assistant Professor: Qualifications

Successful candidates must possess a Ph.D. or DBA (or ABD with defense by the time of appointment) in Marketing or related field and be able to demonstrate excellence in the classroom and the ability to maintain a research pipeline. Preference will be given to candidates with applicable industry experience or comparable teaching experience.
