The Department of Marketing at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is seeking one or more colleagues to join our department in a non-tenure track position beginning in Fall 2022.

About UTRGV

It is UTRGV’s Vision “To be one of the nation’s leaders in higher education, its premier Hispanic-serving institution, and a highly engaged bilingual university, with exceptional educational, research, and creative opportunities that serve as catalysts for transformation in the Rio Grande Valley and beyond.” As such, UTRGV is committed to building a diverse faculty and staff that can contribute to an enriching learning environment that strives for more equitable outcomes for student success.

UTRGV is a distributed campus, one university spanning four counties and multiple locations. Our purpose is to be a university for the entire Rio Grande Valley and beyond. Over 91% of the students enrolled at UTRGV identify as Hispanic, making UTRGV one of the top 3 universities with the highest percentage of Hispanic students.

UTRGV is currently classified as a Carnegie Tier 2 (R2) Doctoral University with High Research Activity and a key strategic goal is to achieve R1 (Very High Research Activity) status in the coming years. In line with this goal, the Robert C. Vackar College of Business & Entrepreneurship offers a supportive environment focused on student success and on elevating the academic reputation of the college.

The Department of Marketing

The Department of Marketing currently consists of 12 full-time faculty and offers undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees with a concentration in marketing. We seek a new colleague who is a dedicated and excellent teacher, who focuses on student success and preparing exceptional business professionals, and who will continue the tradition of improving the social mobility of our students. Preference will be given to candidates who possess strong presentation, analytical, and classroom-management skills.

The selected candidate is expected to teach a variety of marketing courses primarily in a face-to-face environment, but also potentially using other delivery modes as required. The successful candidate is also expected to play a secondary role in service activities in the department.

UTRGV recognizes three distinct non-tenured academic titles, and we encourage you to apply for the appropriate title based on qualifications and interest. Please apply for ONE title only.
