The University of Edinburgh Business School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Marketing within the Marketing Group. We are seeking high quality candidates capable of providing a strong contribution to the research, teaching, leadership and engagement activities of the Marketing Group. Applications from candidates with interests in any areas of Marketing are invited, to complement or extend existing strengths in consumption, markets and culture; digital marketing strategy and consumer behaviour; markets, networks and organisational practices; and public policy influencing positive change. 

The Opportunity:
The Lecturer in Marketing role provides an opportunity to be part of a vibrant Marketing Group within the triple-accredited University of Edinburgh Business School and to contribute to the high quality research, teaching, leadership and engagement activities of the group.

Depending on their specific areas of expertise, the successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in Marketing. Currently the Marketing Group delivers approximately 15-18 undergraduate courses (across all 4 years), manages, and delivers 10 courses on the MSc in Marketing programme, and contributes to the MSc in Marketing and Business Analytics as well as other MSc and MBA programmes within the School.

We would specifically welcome applications from candidates who have experience teaching general marketing, marketing 
research, services marketing, marketing strategy, and/or digital marketing, and experience of using eLearning, online teaching initiatives and blended learning approaches to deliver marketing related courses and/or programmes.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • PhD in a Marketing related area;
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience, and commitment to excellence in teaching, including the ability to develop courses/programmes at postgraduate and undergraduate levels;
  • A developing area of research in Marketing, with evidence of academic publications meeting standards of international excellence commensurate with stage of career;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in a range of contexts (e.g., teaching, research presentations and publications);
  • Commitment to collegiality and team working.
