King’s Business School is a leading, highly-ranked business school with global reach situated in the heart of London. There are presently 140 academic staff across the School, with a full range of undergraduate, masters and PhD programmes and a growing focus on executive education.  We have an exciting opening for an outstanding candidate to join the Marketing Subject Group at Professorial level.

The Marketing Group includes leading scholars in the fields of Digital, International and increasingly Responsible Marketing who publish in top-tier journals across these fields, and the successful candidate will have a similarly strong commitment to research of the very highest quality, as well as evidence of excellent teaching in the area of marketing and customer-led innovation. You should hold a PhD in a relevant field, have a substantial, high-quality track record of publications in leading refereed journals and significant experience in securing research income. We are looking for candidates with a background in quantitative methods and/or experimental designs. You should be keen to contribute to the research leadership of the group, and to work with other group members to develop and innovate in our programme offerings. In addition, you should have considerable experience of working with practitioners and policymakers to achieve impact from research.

Key responsibilities

  • To contribute to the School’s research profile and reputation through publication in top international journals and participation in the major academic networks.
  • To contribute to the academic leadership of the School as requested by the Executive Dean.
  • Lead and sustain top-quality research activity through a portfolio of individual and/or joint research projects and to secure the funding required for this research as required.
  • Supervise, guide and support postgraduate research students and/or research staff.
  • Attend, and play a leading role at meetings and internationally recognized conferences to present research findings and thereby enhance the national and international standing of the School.
  • Take responsibility for the development, planning, organisation and delivery of both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities within the School.
  • Develop and use a variety of methods to assess student learning and provide feedback that is timely, relevant and appropriate.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties that may be required by the Head of Group.
