The School of Business & Leadership at the University of Charleston invites applications from dynamic faculty leaders to serve as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Sales. The selected candidate will also serve as Program Director of a new undergraduate Professional Selling major and as the inaugural Director of the newly established Wehrle Sales Center. The anticipated launch date for the sales major and Center is Fall 2022. Graduate courses in negotiations and sales may also be added to our MBA program.

Reporting directly to the Chair of the Business Department, we are seeking an energetic and highly collaborative faculty colleague with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, applied scholarship, and the recruitment and retention of students. The primary responsibilities of this 9-month position includes instruction, student advising, curriculum development, program assessment, and collaborating with administrative offices on marketing and admissions initiatives. The Wehrle Sales Center will be staffed with the Program Director and an Executive-in-Residence who will work cooperatively to teach sales courses and create engaging activities for the Sales program, which may include organizing symposia, workshops, applied projects, corporate partnerships, student internships, sales competitions, a Sales Advisory Board, and a student Sales Club.

The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and our School is a member and candidate for specialized accreditation by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP). Qualifications

· Ability to teach sales and related courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.

· Experience and proficiency with customer relations management tools and virtual sales processes

· Industry sales management experience.

· An earned doctorate in marketing or a sales-related discipline preferred; candidates possessing a master’s degree in cognate disciplines with pertinent professional certifications and experience in sales will be considered.
