Description of primary duties and responsibilities:

Fayetteville State University Broadwell College of Business and Economics is seeking an individual with a passion for teaching Marketing to join a dynamic, collegial faculty team. This is a full-timetenure track position beginning January or August 2022. The person hired will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate (MBA) courses in Marketing and related courses in support of the Marketing concentration offered in the Broadwell College of Business and Economics.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Participate in active scholarship, teaching, and service in the areas of Marketing including curriculum/course development, active academic research, assessment of student learning outcomes, and quality service. 
  • Teach classes in Marketing (preferred courses: professional sales, sales management, marketing strategy, and/or digital marketing) with a 3/3 teaching load, as determined according to the college’s workload policy. Classes may include face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online delivery methods. 
  • Engage with students by advising Marketing clubs/organizations, national competitions, and student-run activities on campus, as well as engaging in project-based learning. 
  • Actively participate in department, college, university, professional, and community service consistent with the mission and strategic goals of Fayetteville State University.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

1. Earned PhD or equivalent from an AACSB-accredited school in Marketing or closely related field prior to the start date; ABD’s will be considered. 

2. At least two to three years teaching experience and a capacity and willingness to teach a variety of Marketing courses such as marketing strategy, professional sales, sales management, and digital marketing are desired.
3. A record of scholarly and professional accomplishments consistent with the appropriate (Assistant/Associate) rank, as evidenced by scholarly works. A candidate with a completed PhD/DBA must have a recent and consistent record of publication in quality refereed journals.

4. A record of relevant non-academic work experience or project-based learning initiatives with local businesses is highly desirable.
5. Good citizenship in terms of service is critical, as is the ability to collaborate well with colleagues. 

Knowledge skills and abilities:

The successful candidate should be a skilled and dedicated teacher with student-oriented teaching philosophy who is willing to develop real world and community projects.
