The Department of Applied Business Studies is seeking applicants for a 9-month, non-tenure track Marketing faculty position to start January or August 2022. This is an exciting position that will join an innovative and growing program. A student-oriented Assistant Professor is sought who has a passion for teaching Marketing and who is committed to staying abreast of this rapidly changing field.

Qualifications: Teaching excellence is a primary consideration. A record of successful teaching both on-campus and online is required. The ideal applicant should be comfortable teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Marketing.

A Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Marketing is preferred. D.B.A. applicants must have research-based doctoral studies and have an established track record of research. ABD applicants should complete dissertation within one year of joining FHSU. All applicants must have demonstrated research potential.

Responsibilities: The position is a 9-month, non-tenure track Assistant Professor position. Responsibilities generally include teaching four three-hour courses (12 credit hours) per semester at the undergraduate and graduate levels in classes that range from 15-35 students. Faculty are also required to be engaged in scholarly activities, and to provide service to the profession, department, college and/or university. Normal annual faculty evaluation is based on teaching (60%), research (20%), and service (20%). 

Faculty also interact with students by providing professional mentoring for Marketing majors.

Instruction
Faculty members generally teach four courses per semester. The division of work duties may be modified through negotiation between the faculty member and the Department Chair, when such a change in assignment will mutually benefit the faculty member and Department.

Joint publications are accepted and encouraged, including collaboration with students.

Service to the University, Robbins College of Business and Entrepreneurship, department, the region, and profession is expected of each faculty member.

About the Department:
The Department of Applied Business Studies (ABS) is one of four departments in the Robbins College of Business and Entrepreneurship at FHSU and offers outstanding undergraduate and graduate instruction. Currently, the degrees and majors offered by the department are a BBA in Marketing, a BS in Business Education, and a BS/BBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management. All of these degrees are offered through distance learning and face-to-face instruction. The department is involved in international partnerships. Additionally, the department contributes to teaching Marketing courses in the college’s MBA program.
