KGI is seeking applications for a faculty position in marketing. The successful candidate will join the Department of Biological Engineering and Management within the Riggs School at KGI and will collaborate with other management faculty on teaching, research, and curriculum development within the Master of Business and Science program.  The Riggs School prioritizes teaching and research.  Faculty have access to an excellent research infrastructure, a strong network of contacts within industry, and have teaching loads that are conducive to success in research. This is an open rank search.  

Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) was founded in 1997 as the first higher education institution in the United States dedicated exclusively to education and research related to the applied life sciences. KGI offers innovative postgraduate degrees and certificates that integrate life and health sciences, business, pharmacy, engineering, and genetics, with a focus on industry projects, hands-on industry experiences, and team collaborations. Education and Experience:

PhD in marketing or a related discipline. We welcome candidates with an interdisciplinary background. For applicants at the Associate or Full Professor levels, experience in teaching, scholarship, and university service, commensurate with the desired rank. Candidates should have an interest in marketing issues applied to biomedical, healthcare or other high-technology industries.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Individuals must possess knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions may be performed, with or without, reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Teach MBA-level marketing principles and marketing elective(s), including an introductory course on marketing analytics.
  • Guest lecture on marketing research in other classes.
  • Advise teams of students pursuing industry-sponsored Team Masters Projects, particularly in primary data collection and analysis.
  • Participate in an annual summer program aimed at introducing bioscience business to undergraduates.
  • Develop and maintain an active research program.
  • Ongoing contributions to service activities at KGI.
