BRAND STRATEGY, INSIGHT AND ANALYTICS – OPEN RANK T/TT

The Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications at Northwestern University invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track position in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) beginning in Fall 2022. The position may have the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should have completed or nearly completed their Ph.D. in marketing, advertising, communications, or other related fields. While recent Ph.Ds. are invited to apply, preference is for mid- level candidates with strong research and teaching records in brand strategy.

The IMC program at Northwestern’s Medill School is a unique, forward-thinking department. Ideal candidates will have a strong record of high quality scholarly research with managerial implications that can drive thought leadership in the field. Applicants should have a research stream focused on understanding the future of branding in a diverse, global, and digital marketplace and the effects of these activities on marketing communications and society. Candidates should be interested in participating in the unique, interdisciplinary research culture at Medill and show how their research interests are aligned with the values and goals of the IMC program.

Faculty will work in a demanding but rewarding environment at a premier global university. Medill is a professional school, and thus it is critical that the successful candidate integrate theory and professional practice and that research be actionable by the professions. The department offers a full-time 15-month master’s program, a master’s program for working professionals, and an undergraduate certificate program that focus on consumer insight, brand strategy, data analytics, media strategy, and strategic communications. Applicants must have an interest in leading a master’s level course sequence on brand strategy, with expertise in brand strategy frameworks, associated media communications strategies, and brand equity. Faculty are expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate students and perform professional service commensurate with rank.
