General Function (Description):

The Department of Marketing at the School of Business Administration at Clark Atlanta University invites applications to fill one or more tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the Marketing academic area to start in fall 2021. Candidates should have a demonstrated record or potential for publishing in top-tier academic journals in marketing and related areas, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching (evidenced by positive teaching evaluations, teaching awards, etc.), a commitment to serve as undergraduate/graduate mentors in the Marketing academic area, and disposition to contribute to student growth and development through active involvement in student related activities (e.g., advising, working with student organizations).. ABDs will be considered for Assistant Professor positions only. Salary and benefits are competitive.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Marketing.
  2. Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in Marketing and the School of Business Administration in general.
  3.  Conduct research leading to publications in reputable and refereed academic and professional journals in Marketing and related fields.
  4. Provide service to the department, school, university and the profession.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Expertise in marketing metrics, marketing research, marketing analytics, marketing models, marketing management, and related domains is desired.
  • We are open to a variety of research approaches, and we would be particularly interested in candidates with expertise in digital marketing analytics, user-generated content, machine learning methods, field experiments, or other emerging areas and methods.
  • Qualified applicants should be prepared to teach marketing analytics, marketing research, sales analytics, digital marketing/social media marketing analytics, principles of marketing at the undergraduate and at the master’s level.
  • A demonstrated and ongoing commitment to serving diverse student populations is desired.
  • Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Clark Atlanta University are encouraged to apply. Service to the department, college, and the university is expected.

The candidate’s credentials must support appointment at the faculty level to which he or she is applying.

We are particularly interested in candidates with analytical/empirical modeling interests and who conduct managerially relevant research.

Minimum Hiring Standards:

Education

Candidates must hold an earned doctorate (or must have earned a doctorate by August 2021) in Marketing or a closely related discipline. We will show preference to candidates who possess an earned doctorate from an AACSB-accredited university at the time of employment.

None for Assistant Professor. Otherwise it depends on the position.
