Summary

Trinity University invites applications for a position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Marketing in the Department of Business Administration, effective August 2021. The position requires at minimum a Master’s Degree in Marketing or closely related field, Ph.D. or A.B.D. preferred (Visiting Instructor with Master’s degree or ABD). A successful applicant will also demonstrate an appreciation of Trinity’s general education requirements with its emphasis on experiential learning, community engagement, and global awareness. The ideal candidate would have established experience in teaching undergraduate marketing courses. Successful candidates will be able to exhibit documented excellent recent teaching evaluations, potential for impactful research and proven interest in pedagogical innovation.

Trinity’s AACSB-accredited School of Business graduates an average of 150 business majors per year. The School offers B.S. degrees in Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, and Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing (projected to become a B.S. with a major in Marketing in the 2021-22 academic year), in addition to a B.A. in Business Administration for students pursuing a second major.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide effective instruction at the undergraduate level, in areas that support and enhance the core pedagogical instruction provided by faculty in the Marketing area. Expected teaching load is the equivalent of three courses per academic semester (nine credit hours);
  • Primary teaching responsibility will be Principles of Marketing and Marketing Research (with a Data Analytics emphasis), with a willingness to teach International Marketing and other teaching assignments as needed;
  • Developing relationships with local and regional organizations in the marketing area.

Master’s degree in Marketing or closely related field

Preferred: 
Doctoral degree in Marketing or a closely related field (ABD considered)
