Position: Assistant/Associate Professor – Marketing

Position Description

The Melbourne Business School (MBS) seeks to fill a position of Assistant/Associate Professor in Marketing. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Marketing and must demonstrate a record of publishing in top academic journals and have achieved excellence in teaching. Applications are open to all areas of Marketing, however a focus on consumer behaviour and marketing analytics will be given priority.

The position is located in the Marketing cluster, which currently has 5 full time academic faculty. Members of the cluster have active research interests in consumer behaviour, customer decision-making, marketing strategy and marketing analytics. The position is located at the school’s main building, which is part of the University of Melbourne’s Carlton campus in inner Melbourne. Flexible working arrangements are available to all staff. • Ph.D. in Marketing or related area and a minimum of two years post-PhD experience

Desirable

  • Keen interest in cross disciplinary business research
  • Willingness to supervise research students and apply for competitive research funding

    Key Responsibilities
    The successful candidate will be expected to teach into the school’s post-experience MBA degrees and the Master of Marketing degree. There may also be opportunities to help develop and teach content to audiences in the school’s executive education program (short courses and custom solutions). The successful applicant will be expected to pursue excellence in teaching and a highly active research agenda. The School stresses quality rather than quantity of research. Therefore, preference is for faculty to publish in internationally recognised top tier journals. MBS has low administration expectations from its junior faculty.
