POSITION SUMMARY

Dillard University is seeking a professor in marketing for the Department of Business Administration in the College of Business. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach a wide variety of marketing and related courses. Applicants with a demonstrated ability and experience in community engagement and experiential learning; as well as applicants with experience and a passion for teaching undergraduates in a small liberal arts environment will be given preference. Additional responsibilities will include advising undergraduate students, committee service, and contributions to the university’s interdisciplinary general education program. The College of Business is accredited by ACBSP and provides a collegial academic environment with a strong focus on teaching, service and community involvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Duties and responsibilities associated with the position include:

  • Engage in scholarship in the areas of curriculum/course development, active research, and quality service;
  • Teach classes in marketing (preferred courses: principles of marketing, consumer behavior, marketing research, international marketing management and/or strategic marketing management) with a 4/4 teaching load;
  • Engage with students by advising marketing clubs/organizations, national competitions, and student-run activities on campus;
  • Assist with university and community service consistent with the mission of Dillard University.
  • Works with the Assistant Vice President for Research and Effectiveness in coordinating efforts to meet regional accreditation standards and expectations;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Doctoral degree in Marketing or related field from an accredited school; ABD’s will be considered. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications. The position will be available beginning August, 2021. Review of applications will begin immediately, and continue until the position is filled.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least two to three years teaching experience and a willingness to teach a variety of marketing courses.
  • A record of relevant industry experience or project-based learning initiatives with local businesses is highly desirable.
  • A record of published research in peer reviewed marketing journals is desirable.
