The School of Marketing and Innovation at the Muma College of Business, University of South Florida, Tampa, invites applications for a Visiting Professor in Marketing. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in business administration from an accredited University or a Ph.D. in a related field from a university accredited in that field. 

Applications are welcomed from all marketing areas, although a strong preference exists for scholars with a focus on marketing management and/or strategy. Ideal candidates will target and publish in high quality marketing journals (JM, JMR, JCR, MS) and demonstrate excellence in teaching.  Graduate level teaching experience in particular is highly desirable.  The teaching assignment is 9 credit hours each for fall and spring semesters. This is a full-time, 9-month position. Compensation for summer courses, when scheduled, is in addition to the base salary.  

The School of Marketing and Innovation at USF’s Muma College of Business offers cutting-edge undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs in Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain Management, Entrepreneurship, Global Business, and Sport & Entertainment Management.  PhD students may pursue a concentration in Marketing.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Professor

Preferred Qualifications

  1. A PhD in Business with specialization in marketing from an AACSB (or international equivalent) accredited institution or a PhD in other related disciplines.
  2. Evidence of ability or potential to publish in top-level journals in marketing.
  3. Evidence of superior teaching ability, especially at the graduate level.
  4. Evidence of ability to make service contributions to the university and the profession.
  5. Reputation of program granting the candidate’s degree.
  6. Reputation of program(s) where candidate might have been employed previously.
  7. Interest in applying for externally funded research.
