Teaching, Advising, Curriculum and Instructional Development – Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to teaching may include but are not limited to: subject matter competence, course design, course presentation, advising and consultation, directing student research, curriculum and instructional development, and grading student work. Scholarly Research, Creative, and Other Professional Activities – All tenured and tenure-track faculty are expected to participate in expanding the knowledge base of her/his academic field by conducting research or engaging in other creative activities as appropriate to the faculty member’s discipline. Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to research may include but are not limited to: research/creative activity that generates new knowledge and/or synthesizes and/or integrates existing knowledge, publication, an on-going agenda for research, scholarly, and creative activity, and are expected to seek extramural support for their work. Service to University, the Public, and the Profession – All tenured and tenure-track faculty are expected to engage in a program of service appropriate to their discipline. Essential Duties and Responsibilities | The Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Marketing. We will consider strong candidates conducting research in all areas of in Marketing, but preference will be given to candidates strong in Marketing Analytics using econometric and statistical methods. Ability to also teach core Marketing courses will be considered a plus.We are looking for a diligent and collegial academic with records of strong scholarship, excellent teaching, and professional service potential, who are committed to supporting the College’s mission as a major urban research business school. A Ph.D. in Marketing or a closely related field from an accredited school is required. A strong commitment to excellence in high-quality research, teaching, and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels is expected. The ability to teach core marketing courses will be considered a plus. Other desired requirements include an ability to contribute to diversity initiatives.The teaching load will be 2-1 until conferral of tenure and salary is competitive with similar positions at other research universities. The starting date will be August 2021. The position is contingent on final budgetary approval. Applicants must be able to meet AACSB’s accreditation criteria for this position.
