Summary of Job Duties:
The Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas is seeking applications from individuals to serve as the Chair of the Department of Marketing, preferably in Fall 2021. The department seeks a collegial scholar who possesses a strong, active research record in Marketing, a demonstrated record of excellent teaching, a commitment to working with faculty to grow the impact of the Department, and desire to connect practice with research and teaching.

The administrative component of the role will include the maintenance of a conducive research environment and teaching culture, in addition to stewarding the departmental resources. The Department Chair is also responsible for leading the faculty in managing curriculum related to marketing and retailing across the undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department Chair also oversees the scheduling of classes. In the latter part of the role, the Department Chair receives support from the Assistant Department Chair. The Chair also serves on the College’s Executive Committee and supports the Dean and Senior Associate Dean in college initiatives. The position is a 50% administrative position. The teaching load is typically one course per year. 

Additionally, the Department Chair will hold R.A. & Vivian Young Chair in Marketing, allowing for support of the Chair’s research program and department need.
