Description
The faculty member will be a team member who can teach coursework in marketing. The Department of Undergraduate Business offers courses in a variety of delivery modalities (face to face, blended, and online). The faculty member will teach face-to-face in the traditional marketing program and online in the adult undergraduate marketing program. In addition, the faculty member will serve as the marketing program chair for all delivery modalities. As program chair, the faculty member will supervise faculty and work with the department to meet the needs of students and to achieve department goals. A faculty member at Concordia University will have responsibilities in some or all of the following areas: teaching; student advising; professional scholarship (research and creative activities); administration; service to the life of the university, the church, and/or the community. Faculty are assigned 28 credits of annual workload. All faculty positions may include involvement in some off-campus, evening, or weekend duties; as well as student recruitment.

Essential Duties
Teach assigned online and face-to-face undergraduate marketing courses. Advise students within the department’s marketing programs. Lead program improvement initiatives to address the evolving needs of the marketing industry Assess student performance Prepare students to be successful in their chosen profession Manage, as assigned, program administration responsibilities Contribute to department and college projects and goals as needed 

Education and Experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration, or in a related field of business. Experience teaching in-person and online college level courses. A commitment to Christian higher education, the mission of Concordia University, St. Paul, and the Lutheran identity of this university Active membership in a Christian congregation Demonstrated interest and ability to work effectively with students Demonstrated collegial and collaborative skills Highly developed skills in written and oral communication and human relations A commitment to ensuring quality academic programs Demonstrated ability to teach in the classroom and online Professional marketing experience, especially in digital marketing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Earned doctorate degree
  • Demonstrated scholarly activity
  • Demonstrated academic leadership experience
  • Curricular and/or program development experience
