I-shou University is one of the most prominent private universities in Taiwan. A faculty position opened in the emergent Department of International Media and Entertainment Management in the International College, at I-shou University in Taiwan, ROC. The appointment will begin on August 1, 2021. Prospective candidates should hold a doctoral degree and demonstrate strong research/professional credentials with a firm commitment to quality undergraduate education.

Specific fields of expertise with respect to the Department of recruitment include but are not limited to the following:

The ideal candidate should have professional and academic experience in some combination of the following areas: public relations, advertising and promotions, interactive and social media promotions, digital communication strategies and tactics, and related aspects of integrated marketing communication. Candidates will be able to teach courses in Advertising, Public Relations, Social Media, Organizational Communication, and Big-data Marketing and have an interest in developing other courses in emerging media and have a commitment to the pedagogy of diverse communities and approaches.

Full-time faculty are expected to serve on university committees, advise students, and participate in departmental administration and curriculum development. Mostly, the candidate will bring vision and commitment to building a student experience linked to the growing job markets within which our students will work after graduation.

Preferred Qualifications

– Ph.D. required in Advertising, Marketing, Communication or related field with professional experience. Digital media experience preferred.

– A Terminal degree in Strategic Communication is required and would mostly prefer Big- data in marketing and application, or social media experience.

– An applicant should have prior classroom experience and a strong record of professional achievement.

– History of publications in academic or trade journals.- Professional experience (video, promotion, advertising, social media, etc.)

– Established research and/or professional content.

NOTE: Teaching responsibility is 9 credit hours (3 courses) per semester. Successful candidates will be expected to teach fundamental and advanced courses at the undergraduate level in English.
