Full time starting salary is normally in the range £41,526 – £77,108 (Lecturer salary from £41,526 – £49,553 a year with potential progression (to £55,750 a year)). (Senior Lecturer salary from £51,034 – £59,135 a year with potential progression (to £77,108 a year)).

Posts will be located at our Edgbaston campus though there are also opportunities to teach in Dubai or Singapore.

The Department of Marketing is one of six departments within Birmingham Business School. The department has a vibrant research culture, with research activities organised around four research groups: (i) responsible and critical marketing, (ii) arts & heritage marketing, (iii) digital marketing, and (iv) relationship and services marketing.

Our research underpins our teaching across a range of exciting undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the UK, Singapore and our new Dubai Campus. Our new Business and Management undergraduate programmes (including pathways in Marketing and Communications) launched in 2019, and we have a suite of new MSc programmes currently in development. The department also has a healthy PhD programme.

The department provides an exceptional environment in which to conduct research. We run a regular research seminar series and research clinics enabling colleagues to discuss their research in a collegiate and developmental manner. We are keen to support colleagues who join us to be able to flourish and develop their academic careers. 

We are seeking to recruit a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Marketing (Teaching and Research) to undertake and advance research, teaching and leadership within the Department of Marketing and/or across the Business School.

As a research-intensive university, we are looking to recruit colleagues with an excellent research profile and/or with strong potential to develop a growing national and international reputation in their area of expertise. We are particularly interested in attracting colleagues with expertise in advanced quantitative methods, digital marketing, marketing analytics, and/or marketing and new technology.

Person Specification

Normally, a higher degree relevant to the research/teaching area (usually PhD) or equivalent qualifications
Extensive research/teaching experience and scholarship within subject specialism
Proven ability to devise, advise on and manage learning/ research
Skills in managing, motivating and mentoring others successfully at all levels

For Senior Lecturer, a demonstrated competence in Research; Learning and Teaching; and Management and Administration; and excellence in at least two of these areas.
